Troubleshooting Errors While Sharing a Survey Link

Trying to share a link to your survey but getting an error message when you click it? Don't panic! There are a few requirements for laying out your survey properly to avoid an error. Checking the issues listed below usually will find the root cause of the problem faster than sending us a message.

Take a look at these common causes of error messages while sharing and clicking a survey link:

1. Are you using a network member selection (NMS) question?

If you are asking any relational questions (who works with who, trust and value questions, etc.) you need to include an NMS question. This allows your respondents to choose who they know from a bounded list of ecosystem members, creating the structure for future network maps and visualizations. If you aren't asking any relational questions, you do not need to include an NMS question.

2. Is the NMS Question asked before relational questions?

If you ask the NMS question after you ask relational questions, the system will produce an error message. Move up your NMS question to ensure it is the first relational question asked in the survey. This is necessary to determine who each respondent will be asked about in other relational questions, like their perception of each partner's value and trust.

If you have reviewed these issues and you are still unable to click and access a survey link, contact our team for more assistance by emailing support@visiblenetworklabs.com or submitting a ticket here on the Help Center.
