Highlight Nodes in Your Network Maps

Highlight Nodes in Your Network Maps

PARTNER CPRM now allows you to highlight individual nodes in your network maps to draw attention to specific members or patterns in your network. This can help emphasize key partners, track engagement over time, or simply make your network visualizations easier to interpret and share.

This article shares how to use the Highlight feature in the Network Analyzer.

How to Highlight a Node

To highlight a node:

1. Open the Network Analyzer at either the ecosystem or capture level.

2. Click on any node to bring up the info pop-up.

3. In the bottom of the pop-up, check the box labeled "Highlight".

4. The node will remain visually highlighted, even if you close the pop-up or click elsewhere.

You can highlight as many nodes as you’d like. To remove a highlight, just uncheck the box or refresh your analyzer view.

How Highlights Work in Saved Visualizations and Exports

Any nodes you highlight will stay highlighted when you:
  1. Save the visualization and re-open it,
  2. Add the visualization to a dashboard,
  3. Export the map as a static image.
This is especially helpful when you're preparing visuals for reports, presentations, or stakeholder communications where you want to call attention to specific members.

Use Cases & Tips

Here are a few ways to use node highlighting strategically:
  1. Emphasize Key Roles: Highlight members with high centrality, value, or trust scores.
  2. Show Sector Patterns: Combine with node color or group-by settings to reveal sector trends.
  3. Track Engagement: Highlight members with recent activity or notable changes over time.
  4. Plan Discussions: Use during meetings to focus attention on strategic players or areas for outreach.
By combining node highlighting with node sizing, coloring, grouping, and filtering, you can create dynamic, story-driven maps to support your analysis and action planning.
