There are two types of captures for collecting relationship data in PARTNER CPRM. Choosing a type is the first step when creating a new capture. Here's how to decide which to use based on who will be answering questions about their relationships in your use case.Surveys:
Designed for capturing relationship data from external members of your ecosystem. These are typically members of other organizations or agencies without direct access to your PARTNER CPRM ecosystem.
Surveys have more design features to ensure each member is asked the right question, including identity verification and consent language, survey instructions, skip logic and display logic, blocks and pages for layout, and submission options to share a respondent profile.
Surveys also are designed to be shared using the built-in email system, using the email tag variable to add a personalized survey link for each individual respondent.
Designed for capturing relationship data from internal members of your ecosystem or organization. These are typically members of your organization or network, with their own PARTNER CPRM user account and access to your ecosystem.
Forms are streamlined, with fewer design options but are faster to setup and easier to access and update responses over time. Forms can be sent via email but only to PARTNER users linked with a member within that capture. Otherwise, they will be unable to access the form or enter any data.
Which Should You Use?
If the respondents answering your questions are other PARTNER CPRM users with a linked member record, use a form. This allows them to login and access the form quickly and easily to update their responses and relationship data whenever appropriate.
If the respondents answering your questions are not PARTNER CPRM users and do not have access to your ecosystem, use a survey. This allows you to carefully control access and use other design and layout features to collect data from a broad group of community partners and other ecosystem members.
Surveys can still be sent out repeatedly to update responses - but only when you choose to send your respondents another access link.
